Teen mental health care
- the collective way

Traditional mental health care options make teenagers feel like the problem. Their support options are isolated and far-removed from their families and communities. That’s why we’re changing the game — with sisu, mental wellbeing is a collective act.

sisu is a digital mental health education and skill-building platform that creates an ecosystem of care for teenagers.

Educating teens in their language

Teenagers are tired of learning through long classes, heavy textbooks, and awkward talks with adults. With Sisu, they receive self-guided content every week, delivered to their device, in their native digital language (aka short videos of teens in conversation with licensed professionals). It’s emotional and social wellbeing designed by therapists, made for teens.

Support from people who get them

Even with the best intentions, it’s difficult for teachers and parents to connect with teens. No matter how hard you try, they still feel like you just don’t get them. That’s why we pair them with a near peer mentor available for support 9-5 throughout the week — so every teen can feel seen and understood.

Guidance from a community that cares

Our #1 priority is making mental health a collective affair. That means every teen that uses Sisu feels empowered and uplifted by their community of cheerleaders — from their Near Peer Mentor and Family Support Specialist, to their parents and teachers.

Why do teens need sisu

Young people struggle in
silence

Did you know that 20% of kids ages 3 to 17 in the U.S. have a mental or emotional disorder? Research shows that mental health challenges are a leading cause of poor life outcomes in young people (HHS.gov).

Sisu can help. Our program is designed by therapists to develop emotional and social resilience in teens.

1

Teens need to feel seen and understood

Teenagers feel alienated and misunderstood by traditional mental health support options. Only when they feel safe and understood can they begin to learn about themselves and build integral life skills.

Sisu’s model of mental health support is relatable and human. Delivered on their device, by people they relate to.

2

They want to know they’re not alone

Create a culture of caring by making mental health a collective matter. Sisu encourages you to engage with your teenager’s journey and provides touchpoints to open up and cultivate vulnerable connection with them.

With Sisu, you show them you’re part of the same team, working towards the same goal.
